Salina Street Accident
The two people in a car that was involved in a head-on collision with a motorcycle Thursday night near Syracuse's Clinton Square receive medical attention. The 28-year old motorcyclist was critically injured, city police said. The crash happened just before 9 p.m. at South Salina and James streets. An ambulance took the man, who suffered internal injuries, to University Hospital, where he was in critical condition late Thursday, Sgt. Tom Connellan said. The motorcyclist had been wearing a helmet. The female driver of the red Chevrolet Monte Carlo was not injured, Connellan said. Police closed the intersection and several surrounding streets while they worked to reconstruct the crash, which remains under investigation.
